The body is mainly unchanged, but the wings have been replaced with the panels from the Interceptor, using the solar generators to power the twin laser cannons which are a great improvement over the triple blasters of the original Z-95. Most other systems are left in place, so the sensors, engines, etc are still standard, although the reduced load on the ships power generators due to the solar generators means that the shields have been improved which helps compensate for the fragility of the combined technology, the thruster units of the Interceptors wings also help improve the fighters manueverability somewhat. These Uglies are fairly common with Pirate and criminal groups, this is due to the common availability of both Z-95's and damaged TIE Interceptors, and these fighters are well designed enough to cause problems for anyone without access to the latest military vessels.

This is an effective combination of weapons which make the fighter very popular with Pirates who can build or acquire one, however the weapons suffer from fairly poor fire control systems due to their makeshift mountings. The fighter is still fairly tough even accounting for the cobbled together nature of the vessel, and the state of the art military systems make this better than many fighters on the market today. The use of Astromechs to store the fighters hyperdrive co-ordinates is unpopular with pirates, although many don't make use of the hyperdrive systems, so leave the socket unoccupied rather than deal with willful R-series Astromech droids.

The cost of these vessels is high due to the combination of two X-Wings and a TIE Defender that goes into them, the 6 engines propelling the fighter much faster than an X-Wing normally flies, and the combination of the X-Wings Proton Torpedo Launchers and the Ion and Laser cannons on the TIE Defenders wings makes this fighter extremely dangerous in combat. These vessels are extremely rare, and due to their power, speed and manueverability often sell for much more than their listed value simply due to demand and skill which has gone into the design.

The X-Tie is a cheap and common Ugly design, although many have the Proton Torpedo Launchers, Shield Generators and Hyperdrive stripped out as these are the most valuable components of this vessel.

Dragon Banes have a high price due to their use of the TIE Advanced cockpit module and its powerful shield generator and other advanced features. These fighters are weak against Ion Weapons, but their shielding allows them to manage to be highly effective against opponents who are unaware of this weakness. Due to the limited availability of damaged TIE Advanced starfighters, the Dragon Bane is equally rare, however on the rare occasions that these fighters come onto the market they are usually snapped up quickly because of their known deadliness in combat.

Vornskyr's are designed to use parts from the most damaged X-Wings and Tie Fighters, using only one engine from the X-Wing and relying on the sensors of the Tie Fighter replacing those of the X-Wing with a laser cannon mounting. For all their weaknesses and clumsyness Vornskyrs are fairly efficient and reliable fighters, which are reasonably common among pirate groups.

Although the Pirate Y-Wing is an effective and deadly starfighter, many pilots consider its laser cannon only armament to be poor, without the punch of the Proton Torpedoes and without the disabling capacity of the Ion Cannons, however the extra range of the vessels front weapons and the laser turret make it powerful and capable enough to deal with most enemy fighters.

The standard Tie laser cannons and sensor systems are used, and a small life support system added so the pilot can control the fighter in a shirt sleeves environment. TYE-Wing's are common Ugly fighters, which due to the common availability of damaged Tie and Y-Wing fighters are cheap but dependable fighters which are often found used by criminal and pirate organisations.
