I just visited a site where people voted for who he best president of the USA was; Reagan was #2 (inapproapriate comment withheld ;D ). First of all, it was Jimmy Carter who started the economic destruction of the USSR (Reagan got the credit for it though). Second, Reagan was not a lucid person (his brain was being destroyed by... alzhiemer's?); who NEVER should have been a president. Third, when the USSR collapse, it effectivly became Mafia ruled, rahter than a democracy; so F' you American government, you essensially assured that the terrorists will win, and that China will eat us alive. At least Lincoln was #1 (yay!) But G.W. Bush being more popular than his father? WTF? Seriously, G.W. Bush is more "#2" than Reagan ever was. Essentially, I'd say that I have lost faith in the American people, but that would imply that I had it in the first place. Eh, I need a Sobe Energy Drink.

* Cough * Ever hear of Nixon? Hard-handed Detente was his policy, Carter bumbled through with a soft-headed version that designed to appease the Soviets instead of peacefully drive them into the ground.. Carter however can take credit for the economic near-destruction of America. Unless you think America was going to defeat the Russians with an economy based on Double Digit inflation and an Energy crisis.
It goes to show how absolutely vacant the Democrat party has been since JFK(who was a financial conservative and a hawk, both make his a better Republican than a Deomocrat), if as you assert a non-lucid old man with alziemers can beat the Democrat nominee in every state except for one.
Go on, continue to insult Reagan and W. But both are great men wo inherited terrible economies, lowered taxes bbrought about dramatic economic recoveries, stood up to epic treats in the world and set in place a road map to victory. Ultimately history has judged Reagan great because he inspiredeveryone to be great and ran government in a way to get out of people's way and allow them to be great. W Bush is not the "Great Communicator" that Reagan was, but has ran his administration far closer to the way Reagan did than his father, so of course he is more popular.
I have great faith in the American people. We are the most innovative, creative, among the most industrious and we clean up all our own messes. Underestimating and demeaning the American people is why such an unpolished Texan was able to be elected and re-elected. But you won't learn that lesso and you'll keep trying to bring the American people down. Candidates that run on visions of doom and gloom just don't win elections.

Well, now that we're bringing up presidents, what about Lindon B. Johnson? He was the one who signed all those Civil Rights Bills into law. I'd like to see a Neo-Con do something like that (seriously, I would). No, instead we see "W" discriminating against gays and lesbians by denying them marriage rights.
And I'd rather deal with a "man of the people," than an assassin (refering to Russia, Putin in particular).
