That depends of the type and where you get it. Dell makes good low cost Laptops.

Well, a basic Dell laptop with Wi-FI is around $500-600. Not too bad, but still a bit pricey.

really all i can say is your 21 and really she should respect your Intresses she blocks DA And now FA not only that you can't use Msn Or Aim. geez i would get the labtop so you can actuly have some freedom for once.

Atleast you respect their wishes, i was raised old school, and not backtalk may parents, if i did i got the disopline. And yes i still have o live by certine rules that they make, since i live under their roof..... and im 32

My mother raised me as free thinking person, I respect her wishes. I live under her roof. But I pay the bill for the internet all by myself, she gets money for the houses rent and it´s my computer asnd no one has to tell me what I have to watch on the E-Net. But she never would forbid me to watch pages like FurAffinity or DeviantArt. I´m 18 and that´s old enough to cjhoose my own way of live. My mother thinks the same.
Just one personal question, how old are you?
