"Damn..." Marcus responds. "Perhaps we jump in with our support ships and launch all fighters. Disable the freighters engines and then go after the VSD I... either drive it off or destroy it. They we turn our attention back to the freighter, not to mention the Imperial support ships. We could try to capture that freighter, and failing that, we destroy it and it's contents."

“We’d be outnumbered. And I don’t feel like committing suicide for the Alliance!” says Kodai.

"Alright, alright." Marcus responds. "It was worth running the idea past you at least."

“Get your head checked out quick, ‘cause you’re losing your grip on what’s doable for us,” Kodai retorts.

"I know I have been reckless in my ideas, but the Force has always pulled us through in the end." Marcus responds. "I just have a gut feeling."

“We could tackle the warships, but our fighters would be outnumbered two to one, leaving us vulnerable,” says Kodai.

"So, should we go after them or let the Empire claim that area?" Marcus inquires.

Soon the strike force is ready to jump into hyperspace.

The flagship of the strike force is surprising, Home One, Admiral Ackbar’s flagship.

Kodai is also confused. “What the heck is Admiral Ackbar doing here?” he asks. Nobody has an answer to the question.

The strike force jumps into hyperspace and a short time later, jumps out of hyperspace on top of the Imperials.

With fourteen fighter squadrons between them, Home One and Starkiller’s Return have the Imperial force outnumbered and outgunned.
OOC: Home One is said to carry ten fighter squadrons by sources we both have. I’m also assuming that Admiral Raddus managed to transfer his flag from the Profundity when she was crippled at Scarif to a Nebulon-B frigate and survived the battle, allowing the Rebellion to use the USN’s two-platoon system from WWII. At the moment, Admiral Raddus has just assumed command of the Fleet while Admiral Ackbar has stood down to plan his next major operation (the Battle of Endor)…

OOC Post: Remnant, the world where RWBY takes place exists as hinted at in this story: m.fanfiction.net/s/11835770/1/The-Other-Side-of-the-GlassHowever, some Faunus have found their way off world and into the Rebellion. The fighter controller on the Starkiller’s Return is descended from one such couple. Remnant is also the only world where Humanity as we know it exists. And, no, our characters will not get to go to Remnant. Everything in this post is background information.

The massive Imperial freighter is disabled, as is the Ton-Falk. The VSD is now in ranger to open up on the Rebel capital ships.

The battle is soon over. Minor losses are on the part of the Rebel Alliance, while Imperial losses and staggering. Two Imperial corvettes are captured along with the disabled freighter and the Ton-Falk. Orders from Admiral Raddus are to take prisoners into custody and repair the captured vessels for use by the Alliance.

Admiral Raddus’ staff have the Ton-Falk sent off for evaluation while the corvettes are to be added to the Alliance fleet.
OOC: If the carrier was a Quasar Fire-class, I would happily have added it to the Alliance fleet, but not a Ton-Falk.

OOC: Makes sense. But I could see the Alliance modifying it for other uses.
IC: "Well, I am happy to have more corvettes added to our small task force." Marcus says.
