Well, people, the time has come. Several instances have occured that suggest we should reach a decision about allowing nudity or suggestive images in our Art Center. As is the case with all people, we each have certain desires inside us, and emotions that are given to us by whatever force created us. Perhaps we should repress these feelings.... Or, perhaps, they are a healthy emotional outlet that all of us live with. It is part of our biological programming, despite what ethical debates it causes. However, the choice to allow these feelings to be expressed on the Starkiller's Pride is up to you, the members. It is not really fair that so few of us are around to make this decision, but it is one that has to be made, now. Choosing nudity does not make you an evil, sick pervert. If you choose to allow nudity, it will only be that which is sexual, sensual, and pleasing to the human eye, but NOT PORNOGRAPHY. No images of sexual intercourse, furry or otherwise, will be allowed on this message board, and neither will images of an orgasmic state or masturbation. If I find any, I will give you only one warning, and I will propmtly delete your post. If it happens again, I will ban you myself. Members, the choice is yours. It may or may not be a bad thing, so please don't be afraid to answer. We will solve this question with civilized Democracy, not endless bickering, by November 1st, when the poll shall be closed. Remember, it is a secret ballot, so don't worry about it reflecting on you as a bad person.

I was not aware that there was this option; I thought that on this particular type of board everything had to be teddy bears and gumdrops in terms of visuals.

While I personally have nothing against nudity of any kind, I do worry that it will become, for lack of brainpower to think of a better term, a boobfest. Deviant art already has the issue with at least one daily deviation being some lady showing off her rack. I am unsure as of how to vote here, though, because of my concerns.

You don't have to worry about me posting too many nudes; personally, I find clothed models to be more to my liking.
Too be honest, I'm not much of a fan of "pointless" nudity. If the model can do what (s)he's doing clothed just as well as or better than being nude, (s)he should be clothed to some degree.

Exactly.... Not just "showing off", but like sensual, suggestive works. After all, our bodies are beautiful things. Look at the Greek statues and Renaissance paintings.

Three cheers for erotic pottery! *giggle*
Seriously though, I've seen it happen where, even in places where nudity of any kind was allowed, it frequently turns into a boobfest. If I wanted to see breasts, I'd go stare at the chicken section in my local supermarket.

Ah, very clever.... I do know what you mean, but I don't think we need to worry about that at this point in time. We are a pretty low-key bunch....

Perhaps, but I have reason to think that someone may soon discover the secrets that only a vixen can hold for a young fox... And with the season drawing nigh, well...

I just reread the first post, and I'm a little confused. Exactly when did these instances about this topic occur? All that I can think of right now is that one picture of a rebel in her underwear, and me saying that I have a drawing of a cat lady that might not be *appropriate for this board.
*She's not naked, she just happens to look too much like a character from another genre. The picture might be a little too awkward to look at.

To be honest, I don't want to say directly what the instances were to protect the innocent, but they HAVE happened. I only wanted to get this issue resolved as soon as possible to avoid offending anyone in the future.

I vote no, because I find no nude pieces tasteful at all, and I believe it will ruin this forum if we do allow it, sorry but that's how I feel.

There's no reason to be sorry, Maestro! This is a free-opinion poll, and all of us have a right to, well.... Write about how we feel on this issue. It is important, and I appreciate the input of all of you.

Well I've just gotta say that I'm offended that you'd even consider putting such art on here.
Did anyone even check if proboards even allows it?

Ha! I knew it! We really CAN'T do that here on this board! It really must be all teddy bears and gumdrops! Just as well, as I wouldn't be posting any nude stuff here.
Maestro, you said you don't like nude pictures at all; just out of curiosity, why do you feel that way? I don't mean to put you in the spotlight, I'm just curious as to why you feel that way.

Cause it can lead to temptation, to me and lot's of other people, it causes disgust, and I think so because I respect the human, and/or non-human, body with respect, enough not to even draw it, much less want to see it. Like I said, it will ruin the board, less people will join and proboards will find out. In fact if you guys do allow nude art to be put up here, I will leave this board.

There's another message board that I frequent, and it uses a different brand of message board, one that does not have to be only gumdrops and teddy bears. In fact, it's quite naughty, for lack of a better word. ;D
Interesting how this message board system is quite repressive, yet the other board's system is quite not-repressive (can't think of an effective antonym of repressive right now).
Anyways, I guess the rules statement that the Maestro found pretty much cements this decision in place of the no nudity option.

Well, well, well.... All Starkiller's Pride members that are currently active within five-weeks time have posted their vote, and, officially, the pro-nudity side won out. However, in light of the restriction information provided by Mr.Maestro, I am afraid that, despite this poll, I cannot allow even undetailed nudity to be displayed after all.... It is my sincere regret to have asked such an important question without first checking my own data, and I apologize to all of our members or viewers for my decision. In particular, I wish to ask for forgiveness from Maestro. I had hoped that no one would be offended by this discussion, and I am sorry that it offended you. I, myself, am a Christian(And you're thinking, "Yeah, right"), and I understand the values that you, and I, ultimately, live by. But I want everyone to understand: Just because ProBoards does not allow this particular form of artistic expression, it does not mean that we are all a bunch of degenerate, perverted freaks. Unfortunately, the concern that ProBoards(Rightfully) directs at nudity in art comes from past boards becoming, as Binary so eloquently put it, a "boob fest"; A primal mockery of the art that is the Human Body. I trust you guys, personally, to not let this happen, but I am not willing to have the Pride be deactivated because of that trust. Again, I aplologize for ever bringing this up, and I hope that you can forgive me for engaging such a debate without a cause.

Hey, all is forgivin' ;D But yeah, I was quite surprised that you even asked this question. Oh and you'll like this yahoo group Nik, it's a discussion place for Christians who like furries, in fact a similar question such as this was brought up, and while lots of those Christians do draw nude, they choose not to show it, so that their brothers and sisters in Christ shall not fall into temptation because of their works of art. groups.yahoo.com/group/unicorn_and_gryphon/
