Description: The Nebulon-D is the latest in the line of Nebulon Frigates from Kuat Drive Yards, and where the Nebulon-B was mainly designed for the Imperial Navy, the Nebulon-D was designed to boost Kuats flagging sales in the open market. The Nebulon-D has a set of 4 secondary hulls set at 90 degree angles from its primary hull where the Nebulon-B had only a single secondary hull, and the Nebulon-A had twin secondary hulls. This arrangement allows the ship far more internal space, as well as a far larger complement of weapons than its predecessors. However to allow a view from the command tower past the upper of the secondary hulls, it had to be moved to one side, but still leaves the command crew with a limited view forwards, this is a small limitation given that a ship this size is usually piloted using sensors and view screens. The Nebulon-D was also designed with more powerful weapons to use against Starfighters, since its predecessors had problems dealing with the heavily armoured and shielded fighters used by all sides in the galactic conflict. The Republic and Empire both bought limited quantities of Nebulon-D's, however the majority were sold to civilian trading companies, and to planetary governments.
