The Y-85 Titan Dropship is similar to its smaller cousin the AT-AT Barge in that both craft deploy their carried vehicles through floor hatches. Unlike its smaller cousin, the Y-85 is too large to fit inside the hanger apertures of an Imperial Star Destroyer. Only vessels larger than the Imperial Star Destroyer, such as the Super Star Destroyers can handle this mammoth dropship. Furthermore, unlike the smaller AT-AT Barge, the Y-85 is capable of stowing its AT-ATs in battle-ready configuration (no need to fold the AT-ATs legs to fit inside the dropship).
Once the dropship's floor hatches drop down, cranes holding the AT-ATs lower them onto the planet's surface. Note that each AT-AT is afforded its own crane and deployment hatches. Meanwhile, the AT-STs are stored and deployed via rotating racks situated in the centre of the Y-85. Although this design is resentfully employed by the Empire (since it is an Incom Corporation product), it is an essential craft to allow the SSD Executor to quickly deploy its prefabricated garrison bases. This design was in service at least by the time of the Battle of Hoth. Sitting on top of the design is a standard cockpit module, while flanking the design are massive repulsorlift units.
