Tyrant-class Missile Battlecruiser
Name/Type: Tyrant-class Missile Cruiser
Designer/Manufacturer: Kuat Drive Yards
Combat Role: Light Battlecruiser
Crew: 72,958, 640 Gunners
Length: 4600 meters
Speed: 40 MGLT
Hyperdrive: x1
Shield Rating: 25090 SBD
Hull Rating: 11761 RU
Weapons: 250 Torpedo Octet Launchers, 10 Strategic Missile Launchers (10 Warheads).
Fighter Complement: 3 Squadrons.
Troops: 4,500 Stormtroopers.
Support Craft: 12 Shuttles.
The Tyrant-class Missile Cruiser has never been used in large quantities even during the height of the Galactic Empire. The last of these imposing vessels were lost at the Byss Catastrophe. The remaining factions in the Galaxy has not had the resources to spend on these expensive vessels, preferring more standard multirole cruisers such as the Imperator. The New Republic has never shown an interest in the Tyrant.
That said, the Tyrant is by far the largest dedicated missile platform ever in service in the galaxy. Its massed warhead launchers are capable of outputting 2000 proton torpedoes per volley in a continuous stream, so many that no defences are capable of stopping them all. In addition to that, it has ten strategic launchers which can output warheads with a diameter of 70 metres - large enough to be counted as capital ships by themselves.
With the tremendous warhead requirements of the Tyrant, it features massive onboard stocks of proton torpedoes coupled with construction facilities - it actually produces its own warheads from onboard raw materials as needed, thereby saving room. In a prolonged battle, its stocks, however huge, could be depleted and firing rate would go down to as fast as new warheads can be manufactured. All statisics are estimated.
