Operational Summary (Report to High Command)
As requested by the high command, this file outlines, in brief, the operational past of [then] Squadron Commander Patel.
Her operational career starts with her graduation from our training facilities on Carida. Although she did not pass with flying colors, her skill was sufficient to allow her entry into a squadron serving system defense at Ord Sabaok. It was this time that Patel first saw action against Rebel raids against shipping. In one engagement, while defending the "Waitzkin," her confirmed kills totaled to 28% of the Rebel craft. Summarily, Patel was transferred to a more active position.
Her next tour of duty was on the Imperator mk I Star Destroyer "Specter" under the command of Captain Maklov. Patel was assigned the rank of Flight Officer, a promotion, in the 483rd TIE/ln Line Starfighter squadron. Ignoring losses to the squadron, Patel's final percentage of squadron kills was at 17% of the total. The wing commander, with advice from the 483rd squadron CO, had Patel into TIE Interceptor training upon completion of her tour.
This training lasted for one standard month before Patel saw combat against the Narawhak and the Habeen forces during their civil war. She was transferred to the 92nd TIE Interceptor squadron onboard the Imperator mk II Star Destroyer "Werewolf." Her TIE Interceptor skills showed much stronger merit over her skills with the TIE Line Starfighter. The 92nd ended the Sepan Civil War with a perfect record: no missions failed and no pilots lost. It was this time that the first TIE "Avenger" Starfighters came into active use. Patel, upon completion of the tour, was promoted to squadron lieutenant and put into the T/A training.
Given command of the newly formed 335th T/A Squadron, Patel and the "Werewolf" were sent on a simple patrol run to the outer rim. The Imperator Mark II successfully engaged several Rebel capital-class vessels while on this patrol. During this period, as is known, was the failed coup of Admiral Zaarin. With the availability of the Cygnus XM-1 Missile Boat, the "Werewolf" was recalled for resupply and refitting. Patel was transferred to the modified Strike Cruiser "Elemental Imperative" and given command of her fighter compliment. She was also given a promotion to lieutenant commander; of which she personally took command of the 1337th Tactical Assault Squadron.
The "Elemental Imperative" was under the command of Captain Mark Jamison Shephard. With Patel's advice, Shephard instituted a policy of guerilla starfighter warfare, causing casualties not unlike how the Rebels first struck at our shipping. Using a combination of Rebel and top-of-the-line Imperial starfighters, Shephard and Patel were able to inflict a good deal of damage onto the Rebel forces.
As of current, Lieutenant Patel is still commanding the fighter squadrons of the “Elemental Imperative.” With the loss of the commander, the findings of this inquiry recommend that Lieutenant Patel be promoted to commander with all privileges and duties therein. In addition, it is recommended that the 1337th TAS be detached from standard operations and be given the status of Covert Operations Squadron.

Physically, Patel is not ailing from any illness of any type. Nor does she have any unusual hormone imbalances.
Her psychological tests show up with no abnormalities. Commander Patel is not suffering from any form of mental illness. There is no reason to believe that she cannot handle the workload in addition to the missions you are asking her to perform.
As to her sudden "moodiness," it follows a pattern that has been reported on before. According to her medical files, Commander Patel is known to become rather active and vocative towards the end of any tour of duty. Her usual silent, yet collected self should return within a week after the completion.
