LM-432 Crab Droids were battle droids used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. They are nicknamed "Mudcrackers" because of their use in marshy terrain. Their name was derived from their six-legged scuttling movement. As well as their powerful pincer legs, LM-432 Crab Droids were also armed with twin blasters. They are also equipped with a vacuum pump system integrated into their forward pincers that can suck up mud and then spit it out to either clear space for Separatist forces or obscure the visual sensors of enemy forces. LM-432 units are covered by armorplast shielding that can deflect blaster shots. The largest legs of a LM-432 unit are tipped with heavy duranium stabilizers that can secure purchase on even bedrock. Crab Droids were first deployed in conflicts on marshy worlds, but their ability to cross difficult terrain and even scale jagged surfaces led to their usage elsewhere, such as at the Battle of Utapau. Other variants of the LM-432 Crab Droid included tiny models for espionage and giant versions that served as ground vehicles. One rare variant is equipped with Gungan bubble wort projectors that can imprison their targets in force fields.
