For some reason, I visited the SWG Lucas Arts site, and I am amazed. The whole game has appearently been revamped as a WoW clone, but in a good way (I think). I must say, it looks pretty sweet. I might just have to play the game again. I think that I'll try the 14-Day Free Trial soon, and see what it is like.

Seems to be a problem with the account varification right now. I guess I'll try again later. But I do have the trial version on my computer now.

When I get my trial account working, I'm probably either going to play a Bounty Hunter or a Smuggler.

After doing some research about the new SWG from various sources, I have come to a conclusion: IT MUST BE MINE!!!
Curse you Sony, for giving me false hopes with a faulty 14-Day Trial that doesn't seem to work at the moment. Oh, I'll buy the game, that's for sure; I just wanted to try it out first... and you ended up giving me a slap in the face for doing so.

It's... working? It's actually working?
;D
Sweet! When it finishes up the update download, I will start playing the game, and let you guys know what it's like.

Yikes! That's a download of 4.5GB; about 12 and 1/2 hours at 100kB/s. Looks like I'll have to tell you guys about the game tomorrow.

I've played in the NGE. Hate it. Won't play SWG ever again.

Really? Why? Did you have characters from pre-NGE times, which, to my knowledge, where effectively gone for good when NGE arrived?

Didn't want to wait 12 hours for the download to finish, so I bought the game.
I must say, this game is rather interesting. Instead of the usual time between attacks that is usually found in MMORPG's, this game is basically point and click as often as you can. Additionally, the time it takes to defeat an opponent in combat has been reduced, mainly because of the point and click attack mode.

My mistake, there is a short cool down between firing, but it is very short (between .4 and .8 seconds).
I decided to start playing with a bounty hunter (Varick Hadar, human, Europe FarStars Server; but I can transfer him to another server if I wish to do so). The next character that I create will probably be a Bothan, but as to what class, I don't know as of yet.

Wow, it's already been a month since I started playing this game? Interesting.
Initially, I was hesitant of playing the space combat portion of the game, but now I have the basics of that down pretty well. Anyways, soon I'll be leaving the starting area (lack of free time has prevented me from doing so earlier), and adventuring for real.
I'm considering playing a Trader class character sometime soon, though I am not sure when exactly. I will definately start a Bothan character once I get to Tatooine with my current character.
Oh, and I will be trying to boost my Rebel affiliation status as soon as possible as well.

Okay, I have now left the starting area, and am on Tatooine. Very interesting so far. For some reason, there was this blue-ish blob on my map that turned out to be a bunch of other players in close proximity to each other not doing anything (to my knowledge). Anyways, I've started my second character, a Bothan Trader specializing in Structures (buildings and ships).

After playing this game, I have come to this conclusion: my Bothan is of unusually short stature.
Here's a hint to any of you who plan on playing this game: make sure you set the height bar on your character during the creation process at the very least at around 75%.

Ah, NOW I have a "beef" with Star Wars Galaxies; I can only have two characters on each galaxy (server), and I can't send "stuff" between them (just notes). Not to worry, I'll just find a "deviously sneaky" but perfectly legal way to send my current artisan's good stuff to my main character, delete my artisan, and make a new artisan (my current one is a Structures artisan, and I plan on making a Weapons artisan).
Still, the game is pretty sweet.

Yeah. In the old days, you could only have one character per server, unless you unlocked the jedi slot, then you could have a second character on that server. And the only way to unlock the jedi slot was to master three randomly selected professions (out of about 35 or so), oh and we won't tell you which professions they are.
They typical legal ways to transfer stuff is to give your stuff to a friend, who gives it to your other character, or buy a house and make your alt an admin on the house so they can pick up anything you drop in the house. If they fiddle with the game again, theyl probably hand out free respec kits... I'm not sure if there are still other people's respec kits on the market you can buy...
