Now this is a RPG I can get into! The Generic Universal Role-Playing System is quite awesome, particularly Transhuman Space, which uses the rules lite version.
Set in the year 2100, Transhuman Space is an "optimistic" CyberPunk setting set in Earth's solar system. The world is reaching a critical point in it's history, for the Fifth Wave of Technology has just begun. Memes, the cultural equivilent of a gene, run rampant, threatining the "balance" the world has "achieved."
Be a human. Be a parahuman. Be a bioroid. Be an uplifted animal. Be a sapient artificial intellegence. Be what you will, for the future of Earth may very well depend on it. Play as if 11.2 Billion lives depend on it.

I didn't think it possible, but I managed to create a character I like from 200 Base Points (about average for Transhuman Space), plus 20 extra points from disadvantages, and 5 extra points from quirks (the first time I built a character for Transhuman Space, I used about 350 base points). The fact that I can create a non-munchkin character and like it is a sign that I was meant to play this game.

Something I should mention is that Transhuman Space uses the 3rd edition GURPS rules instead of the 4th edition GURPS rules. After looking at both editions, I have to say that I think I like the 3rd edition rules better than the 4th edition rules.
