...That's what can be discribed about the characters that my players bring to the gaming table on Fridays. Damn, and I thought that I was a power-gamer, but these guys take not only the cake, but the plate, cloth, and table! I finally put my foot down, so hopefully things will change. The name of the game? Rifts.
If this keeps up for some reason, I'm going to have to change to another system to play, one that's MUCH more balanced, like d20 or GURPS.

I thought they move Rifts to GURPS... Anyway, it doesn't matter what system, powergamers can always find loopholes and power comos and other such thing. It's really up to the GM to set the expectations for the players and make sure that the characters are balanced. Each time they get a new power, try to find a weakness to go with it. They get implants? Maybe they fail at the wrong moment and they have to be repaired. Maybe they only have a certain amount of charge before they need to be recharged, either manually or with a certain amount of time(which they may or may not have)

Yes, really. When you hear your players during the character creation process saying "wow, that's broken," you know you have a problem.
