Since a lot of old movies have been remade in contemporary times, I was wondering how a remake of the Star Wars Double Trilogy would be different form the original double trilogy.
Let's say that you have been chosen to remake the Star Wars movies. What would you do differently?
Episodes I-VI, in general, I would shoot for PG-13, rather than PG; I do not like how Star Wars attempts to appeal to young children.
Episode I: The Phantom Menace 1. Rename it "The Emerging Menace" 2. Re-design Jar Jar Binks as a political exile instead of a jinx. His reason for exile? He was one of the Gungans pushing for better relations with the Naboo, and when the Trade Federation invaded, they were exiled. 3. Make Naboo a true monarcy, rather than a democratic one. 4. Create a Sith conspiracy, as there should have bee. Really, the Jedi just happen to go to Tatooine, and Anakin just happens to be in the city where they land? No, there must be a conspiracy involving the Sith... with the inclusion of Qui-gon Jin (why did his body not disappear when he died? Should have been because he was a Sith). Afterall, Qui-gon WAS trained by Dooku. 5. No E.T. alien cameo appearance in the Republic Senate; that was just stupid. 6. The battle with the Gungans should be more... brutal. Oh, and equip them with blasters rather than blue balls. 7. No two-headed Pod Racer announcer in the pod racing scene.
I will state more changes for the other movies in future posts.
