WoW private server information

Well, I have decided to share my secret for playing WoW for free with you guys. I play on a private server. Specifically, RTK Gaming. They support up to version 2.3.3, meaning the latest patch doesn't work yet. (2.4.0 Fury of the Sunwell)

They actually have two servers.

Pandamonium
30x experience

Shop prices and flight route prices reduced

To sign up for the server, go to www.rtkgaming.com and click sign up. Then, you must download WoW and Burning Crusade if you want. Then you must download patches up to and including 2.3.3, DO NOT DOWNLOAD 2.4.0 OR YO WILL NOT BE ABE TO LOG IN WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THE LONG PROCESS OF FIXING WoW, THEN REDOWNLOADING THE PATCHES!

Directions on how to get to the rtk server can be found in their forum. I believe it is the first thread in the first board that gives you the directions.

However, I will go through some easy steps here.

Step 1: Go to rtk gaming and sign up.
Step 2: Download WoW and BC.
Step 3: Click the shortcut.
Step 4: Download patches up to 2.3.3
Step 5: When the downloader reaches 2.4.0, STOP DOWNLOADING.
Step 6: Go into 'My Computer', then 'Program Files', then 'World of Warcraft' and click the file realmlist. Delete the first line of text that will say set realmlist= (something, can't remember what it says, it's not important anyway) and replace it with set realmlist=www.rtkgaming.com
Step 7: Delete your WoW shortcut on your destop, it will cause you to download the new patch when you click it.
Step 8: Go back into your WoW file. The will be a file called WoW.exe. This is the shortcut you want to use. I suggest sending it to the desktop to make it easier to get to.

This will be updated regularly. Both of the rtk servers are pretty empty. (meaning ti's easier to get the stuff you need, but harder to get help) On both serevrs I can get you into a guild. It's the same guild.

We have a program called Ventrilo. It allows us to talk to eachother via microphones.
I have it, but my friend set it up.

When I remember how to set it up, I will put instructions to that on here as well.

Hey, I try, Cyberpal. It's fairly empty unpopulated, Panda is mostly horde, and Aftermath is mostly alliance. Both servers I play the hodre mostly. You can make both sides on a single server, btw. Oh, and I am about to update my character list. Made a couple new characters the other day.

Um, I can't get it to work. What program do I use to open the ".wtf" file? Also, how do I get the downloader to stop at 2.4.0 (mine just groups all WoW patch downloads in one big chunk)? Plus, I still don't know if this will result in me getting banned from regular WoW.

Hmm... the .wtf file opens in wordpad.

Going to this, in and of itself, will not ban you from retail. You will have to reedit your wtf file to get back in. On the RTK website there is a link that leads you to a list of sites that download patches. The patches there are separated.

Right now, I am favoring pandamonium. I deleted all my old characters, restarted, and hace determined myself not to use the rtk mall unless I have to.

((RTK mall is where you can buy good armor with no req, teir armor, and crafting materials, oh, and weapons.))

I must say, I'm rather impressed with the servers. So many "green" quality goods, and the mineral nodes sprout up everywhere. Not to mention the generous leveling and skill experience.

Yeah. Pandamonium is pretty wicked. Oh, and you can buy EVERY crafting material used in all professions in the RTK mall. (Meaning, for a smaller than normal fee, you can be a blacksmithing tailor.)

Oh, and, uh, btw, THEY ARE FINALLY UPGRADING TO 2.4!!! (I think.)

Hey, guess what? The leader of my guild is doing something crazy. As I type this messgae, he prepares his own private server! Amazerin'! He hasn't got it to work yet, well, he can get to it, but no one else can yet. He's having trouble getting it on the internet. EVERYONE WILL BE WELCOME! I, myself, am going to be a GM! Well, as soon as I have information on it, and it's running, I'll make sure to post the link to it.

Not really. He keeps tunning into brick walls. We think he gets it up, only to find that no one can connect. Could be up today, could take a couple weeks.
