The MSE-series was a line of general-purpose droids produced at Rebaxan Columni.
MSE models:
MSE-1T droid
MSE-1Ts were believed to be the first in the MSE series. They ran on tracks, making their ability to travel limited. They were able to consume rusted droid parts. Star Tours, a short-lived travel business purchased two of these droids. One of the droids, known as Frank, repaired machinery while the other unfortunate MSE-1T unit was damaged and found a new use as a table for G3-5LE.
MSE-4 droid
The MSE-4 droid was a fifth-degree general-purpose labor droid produced by Rebaxan Columni prior to the onset of the Clone Wars.
These tiny droids were produced as part of a test run that, along with the MSE-5 droid, led to the creation and success of the company's MSE-6 droid. A number of MSE-4s were employed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems on Mustafar, working in a Techno Union facility.

"Lastly, we have a complaint from the Aar'aa regarding their order. Apparently, the MSE droids skittering underfoot are making them uncomfortably… hungry."
— Rebaxan Columni executives, product testing the MSE-6
The MSE-6 droid, sometimes referred to as the mouse droid, was a small, box-shaped, wheeled general purpose MSE-series droid often used for delivery and maintenance purposes. MSE-6 units were most notably on Star Destroyers and both Death Stars during the time of the Galactic Empire.
The MSE-6 stood about 25 centimeters tall and ran on six wheels. The MSE-6 droid, although programmed with multiple capabilities, was designed with only a singular function. A modular circuit matrix was installed beneath the droid's boxy shell, and contained programming for one skill. Commonly, mouse droids carried out cleanup and basic repair duties, and could serve in security and communications fields. Since each droid possessed only a single skill, multiple mouse droids could chain together to pool their resources for more complex assignments. Trains of MSE-6 droids could often be seen guiding troops through military installations; this kind of duty required mouse droids to be programmed with complete readouts of their assigned areas. In addition, due to their use in military outposts, MSE-6 units were rigged to melt down if captured, giving the droids a strong self-preservation instinct.
The MSE-6 was developed by the Chadra-Fan at Rebaxan Columni, based on the earliest MSE design, the MSE-1T droid. Rebaxan produced billions of the droids, heavily promoting them in over four hundred sectors and marketing them as "cute"; the general public instead considered them irritating. Many MSE-6 droids were used by the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars. The Confederacy of Independent Systems also maintained a number of tiny MSE variants in the Separatist Council War Room on Mustafar during the end of the Clone Wars.
Rebaxan Columni became desperate to sell the massive collection of droids they had built, so they sold the entire lot of them to the Empire for work in the Imperial Navy before bankruptcy.
Gara Petothel and her R2-series astromech droid Tonin used the MSE-6 droids of Warlord Zsinj's flagship Iron Fist to destroy it by reprogramming them and replacing their wheels with magnetic strips. The droids destroyed the engines and hyperdrive, making the ship virtually immobile so that General Han Solo could come and destroy the ship in the Selaggis system.
A while later, at the height of the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances modified a number of mouse droids to serve as mobile surveillance units to root out infiltrators on Mon Calamari.
MSE-9 droid
MSE-9 droids were MSE-series droids that often served as security guards.
MSE-15 droid
MSE-15 droids were part of the MSE-series. Droids of these series were used aboard Eye of Palpatine as cleaners.
