A while ago, I had heard that in Return of the Jedi, the Death Star II was originally going to be based on Kashyyyk, the Wookie homeworld. Instead, we get the forest moon of Endor, and the Ewoks.
So here's the question: would you have rather seen Wookies in Return of the Jedi, or do you prefer the Ewoks instead?

Why no Ewok-lovin'? Ewok rock hard! Always have, always will.
Better than Gungans, anyway....

Damn, this would have been a good time for a shiver in fear smiley... or one that's going to be sick.
lol, just kidding.
Did they make a whole story about that, or just a single page?

Just a single page. I actually could send you the issue that it is in, since I now have the trade paper back that said issue is collected in.

I'm afraid not. They stopped making it last year.

Speaking of Ewoks, I was just reading the Geonosis and the Outer Rim worlds for the Star Wars d20 role-playing game, when I came upon the Endor system, and saw a picture of a Ewok Jedi. No, I'm not kidding, there is a picture of an Ewok Jedi in that book. Fully dressed in Jedi robes as well.

On the Wizards of the Coast website it says that said ewok is a joke that the author added for fun. It is NOT canon.

That would make sense, since there is no character description of said Ewok in said book.

Aw, c'mon, guys! Why can't there be an Ewok Jedi? I mean, hell, here we are toting more post-Purge Jedi and Jedi marriages than anyone could ever ask for. That's what I love about Star Wars: Just how fun and free it is.
Sticking too much to canon in anything can kill it, be it Star Wars, Star Trek, Indiana Jones or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so just have fun with it!
