...There is one fatal flaw that pretty much kills the whole Star Trek vs. Star Wars genre, provided you are trying make it as accurate as possible; that flaw is power... ship power, to be precise. In Star Fleet Battles, most ships do not reach the 100 GW mark, which is 10 11. A Super Star Destroyer's rector produces around 10 26 power, which is about a trillion times more than a Klingon B10 Battleship has. However, an advantage that Star Trek vessels have over Star Wars vessels is speed... lots, and lot, of speed. In one second, at tactical warp 2.5, an "average" speed for warp speed "dog fights," a ship is traveling farther than a Super Star Destroyer in a half hour... at least. So, essentially, Star Wars and Star Trek are not truely compatible with each other... if you are trying to be as accurate as possible.

And here's a fun fact: the sun produces 3.83x1026W of energy, which I got from Wikipedia... so it might not be true, but it sounds right.
Those Star Destroyers essentially have the power of stars inside their reactors.

*Sigh* Here we go again....
Listen, guys, while there IS a certain amount of canon that we need to worry about in both the SW and ST universe, there is one thing that we must remember: HAVE FUN! Being a geek isn't about numbers or statistics, at least not for me. What it IS about is just enjoying the things that we enjoy, and forget what other people say is "impossible". If we wan't Kirk vs. Solo, then, Damn it, we'll get it! If we want the Enterprise against the [/i]Executor[/i], then we shall have it! It doesn't matter, because it's COOL!

For the record, any data about reactor power is not even canon. Unless it's actually shown on film it's "official". The biggest flaw in Star Trek/Star Wars crossovers is that Trekkies and Warsies turn it into a holy war over which is better, usually based on meaningless technical details and so few discuss the relative merits of each setting to tell dramatic and interesting stories.

i agree with vecto, it's all about fun. it be a cool idea enterprise versus excecutor. both universes have great ship designs. i just don't get the SW/ST rivalry.

I don't get it either. When someone tries to impliment said idea, it sees to become some what similiar to a "cake vs. ice cream" arguement. At least, in the case of both arguements, whoever loses...
...we win.
;D
