Jaana was born never knowing whom her father was, mainly due to the fact that her mother had been raped, later resulting in her birth. As a child, Jaana had a very hard time surviving, along with her mother. When Jaana was 16 years old, a swoop gang forced themselves upon her mother, and then left her to die, but Jaana carried her to the nearest hospital and after that, she contacted the local Imperial garrison, informing them about the gang. The Empire was merciless to the gang, executing all five members. Later when she was 18, Jaana decided to become a doctor, and join the Imperial Army, as a favor for what the Imperials did to the swoop gang two years earlier, and to honor those who saved her mothers life. At the same time, Jaana discovered that instead of being interested in men, she was attracted to woman. Upon graduation, Jaana was assigned to the 432nd Strike Force to replace their medic, who was killed in action. In her spare time, Jaana built a medical droid out of discarded droid and medical parts, and named it KR-4. She is developing a crush on General Elissa Splet, and hopes that Elissa will allow her into her heart. She will soon make her intentions known to her General.
