The BlasTech A270 blaster carbine is based off of BlasTech's powerful and
popular A280 rifle (the blaster rifle used by Alliance troops at Hoth). For
the A270, BlasTech removed the stock and shortened the barrel, reducing the
range and stopping power only slightly.
