OOC: I was thinking that it would be cool to have a massive space battle RP. It would take place during the Galactic Civil War (Empire era). The main Rebel/New Republic forces will be Starkiller's Might (aka 198th Battle Fleet) with the flagship being the MC80a Starkiller's Pride. Several other Rebel capital ships and smaller vessels will be part of the Starkiller's Might. The battle will take place in orbit around Onderon and it's moon of Dxun. I will need someone to play the Imperial forces.

Marcus, I'm seriously thinking about it. Bear in mind that if I do, you can expect my entire fleet to defect to the Alliance once Iceheart (Ysanne Isard) takes power on Coruscant.

Alright.

Now, since I've decided on the "defecting warlord" routine, as your last note on FA put it, my Executor-class SSD is named the Warrior. I'm assuming that my SSD was the one sent to Borleias to bring Derricote to Coruscant in Rogue Squadron, as mentioned by Kirtan Loor. (Let me know if I screwed up the guy's name.)

OOC: Set it up. It's still your turn to set the RP up.

IC: The Onderon System: Two years after the Battle of Endor.
The 198th Battle Fleet emerges out of hyperspace.
Aboard the MC80a Starkiller's Pride:
"Alright boys and girls! This is General Starkiller to the fleet... New Republic High Command has sent us to the Onderon System to liberate it from Imperial forces." says Marcus over the loudspeaker. "All hands to your stations! Prepare for combat."
"My dearest, our Tandem X-Wing is ready." says Ivanova Starkiller.
"Good, my wife. it's been awhile since we've seen starfighter combat." says Marcus as he and his wife prepare to head to the main hanger. "Captain Holter, you have command while we're gone."

OOC: Also, I've swapped my standard TIE Fighters for Interceptors, and replaced the original Interceptor units with Defenders (aboard Warrior, anyways). Also, you could concievably use one of the two Impstars captured at Endor.
And can I use your Zeta-class Star Destroyer? I'm assuming it carries 3 squadrons of fighters (in my case, all Interceptors).
IC: Hyperspace: Inbound to the Onderon System, same time:
Aboard SSD Warrior:
"So we're decided, then?" Admiral Matt Hunter asks his fleet's senior officers over the holocomm. He continues after the officers have all nodded assent, "We will defect to the Alliance. We cannot serve the Empire so long as Imperial Intelligence is in control!"

OOC: Sounds good. And sure you can use the Zeta-Class SD (and yes, it does carry three squadrons of fighters).
IC: "Admiral Hunter, more then two fifths of my crew are still loyal to Isard." says Captain Beckard
"There appear to be Isard loyalists aboard all our vessels." replies Captain Dhier.

OOC: Is Beckard Matt's Flag Captain? Also, I find it impractical for that many people to be loyal to the Director of Imperial Intelligence, when it is specifically mentioned in Rogue Squadron that the Imperial military dislikes the fact that Isard is in control of the Empire. A few moles in the crew ala the GRU mole in The Hunt For Red October, sure, but not the majority of the ships' complement, except on some of the smaller warships, like maybe a CR90 corvette or a Carrack-class. If I'm not making any sense here let me know.

"Are you expecting trouble from them, Captain?" Matt asks.
"I don't think so, but I'd appreciate some additional troops to bolster the troops I have aboard," Captain Beckard replies. "I'm not going to take any chances."
"The rest of the Loyalists can be dealt with by the shipboard detachments," Captain Dhien says.
OOC: What ship does Captain Dhien command?

OOC: Captain Dhien commands an old Dreadnaught-Class heavy Cruiser named the Glory of Empire.

OOC: Okay.
IC: "As soon as we drop out of hyperspace, Captain Beckard, I'll send a battalion of troops over to deal with Isard's lackeys," Matt promises.
"That's a relief, Admiral," Captain Beckard replies. "Do we know what we're going to be dealing with in the Onderon System?"
"Unfortunately, no, we don't, Sir," says Commander Lucien Ilex, Admiral Hunter's Intelligence Officer. "That's Vice Admiral Dholen's area of responsibility, and our last update didn't say anything about what he has where."

"So we could be walking into a trap then...?" says Captain Beckard.
|
|
|
Post by Wolfman on Jun 28, 2012 9:14:56 GMT -5
"Possibly, Sir," Commander Ilex replies. "Or we could drop into the middle of a fleet engagement with the Alliance."
"A trap would presuppose that that moronic tub of lard, Dholen, knows that we're coming his way, which he most likely does not," Matt says, speculating. "Either way, we can handle it. I'll see you all in the Onderon System in two hours, then," he says, cutting the link.
OOC: Would it be too much to ask for to be permitted the use of some of your other Imperial Star Destroyer designs?
Also, I view the Dreadnaught-class ships in my fleet as heavily armed troopships, carrying a squadron of TIE/sa Bombers (Dupes to the Alliance) for CAS of the embarked regiments. I'm also using some Acclamator-II-class ships to carry additional assault troops, if that is permissable.
