Background: The Redeemer is a lower ranking Time Lord born during the 3rd century of the Earth calendar. He never travelled on his own, but with a fellow male Time Lord, who went by the title of the Explorer. The two Time Lords had been exiled from Gallifrey for being gay. But once the Last Great Time War broke out, the Explorer and the Redeemer got called back to fight the Daleks. In the second year of the Time War, the Explored was killed by Daleks when they blasted him as he regenerated. The Redeemer took the body of his dead lover into their TARDIS and escaped prior to the war being placed in a timelock. The Redeemer ended up on Earth in the 1970s' and went into hiding, having put his TARDIS in a hidden cavern. He is currently living with an attractive human fellow named Michael.
