OOC: Kari Hunter and her pilot slash business partner Keith Rogan have grown closer over the past six months to the point that they have been dating for three months, though they have not slept together yet. The business is growing, with several small scale contracts from Industrial Automation to haul R2 and R4 series astromechs to various worlds where the droids would be handed over to IA outlets. We catch up with them as they take some time off on Coruscant (Imperial Center) following one such delivery.
IC: "The Imperial Museum was interesting," Kari remarks to Keith as they walk hand-in-hand back to their hotel room, which was being paid for by Industrial Automation. "Even if it was slanted in such a way as to make the Empire look good. Gotta admit, though, most of the time, they were pretty subtle about it."
"Not about the Jedi," Keith reminds her.
"Why do you think I said 'most of the time', Keith?" Kari responds tartly.

"Cannot believe they even tarnished the image of the ancient Jedi." says Keith. "Lord Hoth and the other members of the Army of Light that fell at Ruusan have been painted as blood-thirsty killers."
Keith then takes Kari to the side. "I am descended from the Hoth bloodline. The old Jedi Master had three siblings, two brothers and a sister. I am from one of them." Keith then pulls up his sleeve, revealing the Crest of the Hoth family tattooed on his upper arm.
Meanwhile on Corellia, Daxx and Vallen are celebrating the anniversary of when they met. The couple is in Coronet City at a nightclub when someone purposely shoves Vallen off a bar stool.
"You're in my seat!" shouts the thug as he draws a vibroblade, threating Vallen with it. "Get lost."
"Excuse me, but nobody manhandles my husband except for me!" says Daxx as he cold-cocks the brute under the chin, delivering a Knock-Out Blow. "And I only do it as foreplay."
Daxx hands the bartender a bag of credit-chits.
"Sorry about that." says Daxx, helping Vallen off the floor. "We best be going before he wakes up."
"No problem, Daxx. You and your boy-toy husband are always welcome." says the barkeep.

"It didn't look like they'd gone that far to me, and they certainly condemned the thought bomb that did them in, called it 'too extreme'," Kari muses. "Call the depiction of the Jedi as being neutral overall, with the implication that the Jedi lost their way when they took nonhumans into the order as apprentices under human masters and one became Grand Master. But enough of that! Where to next, Keith?"
OOC: Go reread the section of Wedge's Gamble where the Rogues are talking about the Museum and you'll see why I had Kari say what she said.

"Trust me, you need to read the subtle details of the displays." says Keith. "How about we see if IA needs a shipment sent to Corellia?"

"Wouldn't that necessitate a trip to Nubia, first?" Kari asks him as they walk back to their hotel room. "And I thought we were supposed to be on vacation?"

"We are, but I know you miss Daxx and to a lesser extent, Vallen. I think it would be good for you to see them." says Keith.

"So, who's going to tell the IA bigwigs that we're coming?" Kari asks with a grin as they enter their hotel room.
OOC: See ya tomorrow. My head's decided it wants to kill me...

OOC: Ok.
IC: "I'll call IA." says Keith.

OOC: Four Excedrin, two meals, and a nap later, my head's more or less back to normal... knock on wood.
IC: "Good!" Kari says as she enters the refresher in a tone that makes Keith think he's been manipulated, again.
"How does she do that to me?" he asks himself before he makes the holocomm call to Nubia.

"Everything is squared away with the IA execs." says Keith once Kari comes back out a short time later.

"Good," Kari says. "Let's check out of the hotel tomorrow morning and head for Nubia."
OOC: Keith Rogan is not Force Sensitive.

OOC: True, but his hearing is very good. Keith heard Kari coming.
IC: "If you want, I can start packing." says Keith.

Checking out from the hotel is routine and they are soon back aboard their ship.
"Kari, Imperial City orbital airspace has been locked down!" Keith reports. "Supposedly 'for public safety'..."
"What?! Why?" she asks in response.
OOC: The final three-way battle between Black Sun, the Rebellion, and the Empire in Shadows of the Empire is why, but our characters don't know that.

Keith looks up into the sky and sees specks of light flashing, but barely visible. He takes out his macro-binoculars and zooms in.
"Kari... you won't believe this... but there is a space battle up there." informs Keith.

"You're right, I don't believe it!" Kari retorts, grabbing her set and zooming in on the specks. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the Executor, Vader's flagship, up there? And I think I caught I glimpse of the Virago!"

"Maybe Black Sun finally crossed the Empire too much." quips Keith.

"Could be," Kari agrees. "WHOA! Executor's firing on a skyhook! Bet ya twenty credits that's Xizor's skyhook!"
"No bet," Keith replies.

The skyhook is soon destroyed.
"Wow! If Xizor is still alive, he's got to be angry." remarks Keith.
