Emliss follows after Nina as the two dash out into the hallway. The crowd, heedless of their safety, presses into them, forcing them into the nearest stairwell. "We're going to be crushed if we stay out here!" Shi tries to yell over the roar of the crowd.
Calling up the energy she employed as a missionary shi shouts out "CALM DOWN!" The crowd's push lessens slightly, but they're still in danger. To Nina shi says "find a window, I think I could slow our fall if we jumped."

"Good plan. Emliss!" Nina responds. "I think there is a fire escape on the back side of the building. If not, we will have to jump."

"Assuming it's not already overcrowded." Emliss replies, attempting to direct the crowd away as they head towards the back of the building. As shi feared, the fire escape is already overfilled with the press of escaping bodies. "Just as I feared, we have to jump."

The fire escape collapses under all the weight, sending innocent people to their deaths and injury.
"Alright. On the count of three, we jump out that large window frame." Nina barks as she shoots out the transparasteel with several shots. "One! Two! Three!"
The vulpine couple rush out the window and grab hold of each other as they plummet to the ground. "Just in case we don't survive this..." Nina says as she pulls Emliss into a hug and kisses hir. Thanks to Emliss use of the Force, they both land with only minor injuries. Nina's sniper rifle is intact for the most part, but the sight/targeting system broke on impact.

Emliss notices the broken scope. "I guess we won't be shooting down any more ships." Shi comments. "Can you still use that to take out ground troops? If not, you might make better use of this than I could." Shi offers hir hold-out blaster to Nina. "It's got six shots in each power pack, and two packs."

Nina picks up the sniper rifle and aims at the pilot of a crashed Sith bomber who survived. She pulls the trigger and sends the pilot reeling backwards.
"Still works, but I think we should find better weapons somewhere." Nina states. "I think the cities armory is about five blocks from here."

"With any luck the Home Guard will be organizing there already." Emliss adds hopefully. "We need to find a way out of here and someplace where we can help defend the planet."

"Moff Kit-Sune, I am Major Azul Xiv. I am to take you and your partner to Fort Maxus for emergency debriefing." states a pure male Ta'alib as he pulls up in a combat speeder. "The Sith are bombing other major cities around the planet. The Royal Palace was hit first... Empress Bluefur XII was injured, but will live. Half the Royal Court died in the attack sadly."

"No can do." Major Xiv interjects. "The Palace is abandoned due to damage. That is why we are headed to Fort Maxus, the Moff is to direct our counter attack from a command bunker a mile below the fort."

As they fly to the Fort a damaged Blizzard fighter streaks down overhead. In a panic Emliss attempts to throw it away from their flight path using the Force, but barely manages to divert it slightly. The fighter impacts the ground twenty meters to their left, throwing up a plume of dirt that their pilot just barely manages to avoid. "What he said, we need to get there, and fast."

The trio arrives at Fort Maxus and are whisked to the lowest level by a high speed elevator system. In the control room, Empress Bluefur XII is awaiting them. Hir right forearm is missing, having been charred in the attack on the palace. Shi opted for amputation rather that be out of the fight. A bacta tourniquet covers the stump.
"I am glad you made it." Empress Bluefur XII states as shi sees Nina and Emliss.
"And we are fortunate that you are still alive." Nina says as she bows before the Empress.

Emliss bows with hir mate as they approach the Empress. "I am sorry for the loss of your arm, your highness."
"Pff", Empress Bluefur XII waves hir remaining hand dismissively. "You have nothing to apologize for, Missionary Etytust. The blame is all on the Sith and their insistence on such barbaric destruction. You were there during the evacuation of our colony, were you not?"
"I tried to save as many as I could." The missionary replies with a deep tone of regret. "They turned our orbital mirrors to rain death upon us. We were driven underground, penned in by orbital bombardment. We barely managed to escape with as many as we managed."

"I am well aware of the evils that the Sith have committed against our people, in the present and in the ancient past." Empress Bluefur XII responds. "My arm will be replaced with a cloned copy at some point, but for now a crude mechanical one is being prepared. Come along Moff Kit-Sune, we must start the campaign to push the Sith away. Emliss, I had your R7 unit brought here when the attack started. It should be able to help with some of the data streaming. And as you Emliss, are learning the be a healer with the Force, we need you in the infirmary. Doctor Vall will take you there."
A female human walks over to Emliss. "I am Doctor Grettay Vall, of the True Emperor's Medical Corps. If you will follow me."

OOC: I edited the post.
IC: Doctor Vall and Emliss arrive at the infirmary, which is full of badly wounded troops, officers and pilots. Wounded civilians have been taken to a separate bunker a mile away.
"I am sure you remember Commander Azu Ra. Hir Twin Blizzard was crippled by ion cannon fire and clipped a factory roof. Both legs are broken and hir right eye is damaged beyond repair." Doctor Vall states. "Hir co-pilot, Sergeant Beti Ful is over there in a bacta tank... poor thing... hir right leg was sheered off during ejection. Also has five busted ribs and swelling of the brain."

Emliss struggles to maintain hir composure at the sight of the pilots who brought them away from Shin'ju Tertius not too long ago, now battered and beaten on the surgeon's table. The empathic senses shi had been developing to help hir detect assassins since the evacuation are overwhelmed with the feelings of pain and suffering emanating from all around hir. "Doctor," she asks the human woman, gasping for breath, "I have some healing abilities with the Force, at the very least I could relieve the pain of some of them. It's possible I might even be able to put a few into hibernation trances, it's not quite medical stasis but at least they'll be able to sleep."
To demonstrate shi lays a hand on one of Commander Ra's legs, as shi concentrates the wounded pilot relaxes a little, the pain in hir leg receding.

"Th... thank you Emliss." Azu Ra states before falling asleep, which shi really needs right now.
"I am impressed." Doctor Vall states. "I think you are in the wrong field of work, Missionary Emliss. The True Empire could use a healer like you."
A blast on the surface lightly rattles the bunker a mile down, kicking up dust and vibrating the bacta tanks ever so slightly. Nina is now in the command center, sending a call for assistance to Bastion and to any Galactic Alliance Remnant forces that can help.
