"Captain Swift, this is General Starkiller, Raptor Squadron will tackle the Starwings. You take out those stormtrooper transports. The other squadrons with take on the TIEs."

OOC: Marcus, an EF-76 Nebulon-B frigate can only carry 24 starfighters.

OOC: I know, but I say other Rebel capital ships arrived and they launched their own squadrons.
IC: A squadron of Y-Wing bombers launch from an old Clone Wars era carrier.

OOC: The Republic didn't have carriers other than the Venator-class Star Destroyer, to my knowledge, which may be incorrect.
IC: Kari breathes a sigh of relief upon seeing the Y-Wings. "Lead, Eleven, those Y-Wings are a sight for sore eyes," she says.

OOC: Correct, but I didn't say that it was a Republic carrier design. IC: "Agreed, Eleven." Nerva responds seconds before a crippled TIE Interceptor cuts clean through the port side S-Foils of her X-Wing, sending her into a nasty spin. "Shit! This is Lead, my fighter is out of control. Punching out!" The canopy of Captain Swift's X-Wing is released via explosive bolts just before the angry pilot's ejection seat rockets out of the doomed craft. OOC: images3.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/5/58/Hobbie-crash.jpgA small force field protects the pilot, as seen in that image. IC: Amie stares in disbelief as Nerva's now abandoned X-Wing spins right into a Starwing. Nerva has by this point gotten her facemask in place to seal the helmet and secures the breathing hose. "This is Winged Vixen Leader, requesting emergency pickup."

OOC: Now that I think about it (and looked at the post again), you're right.
IC: "Vixen Eleven moving to cover SAR bird," Kari says.

IC: Kari also returns to battle, splashing an unwary TIE/Ln Fighter as she does so. "Vixen Eleven, splash two," she says, referring to both this kill and her earlier kill of an Interceptor.
OOC: Nice, and makes a degree of sense.
Oh, and Kari's gonna fight tooth and nail to keep the Partisan paint scheme, especially since I've shown her taking advantage of it as camouflage.

Amie gets a torpedo lock on a Stormtrooper transport and fires a pair of proton torpedoes. The first warhead misses the target, but the second one rips the passenger hold wide open. Parts of stormtroopers and their ship spiral through the battle zone.
Captain Nerva, meanwhile takes the co-pilot seat of the T-74 that rescued her.
James is able to rip apart a Starwing with a well placed blast to it's starboard missile rack.

Kari continues to hunt Imperial fighters, hitting them and fading into the background. She racks up another four kills in this manner.

James astromech takes a piece of debris to it's dome shaped head and is disabled.
"Stang! My R2 is gone..." James states.
"Don't worry Raptor 12, if a jump to hyperspace is required, make your way to a friendly hangar and hitch a ride." General Starkiller orders.

Kari hears that and quietly snickers to herself as she checks her tail, noting that it was currently clear. She then locks on to one of the DX-9 Stormtrooper Transports and destroys it with a pair of proton torpedoes.

Amie and a Y-Wing pilot are flying next to each other preparing to take out another Stormtrooper transport when the Y-Wing explodes, scorching Amie's X-Wing, but not much else.
"This is getting hairier than a bantha's backside." Amie mutters over the link.
"Cut the chatter." Nerva barks over her headset.

"Lead, Eleven," Kari says with a hint of fear in her voice. "Inform higher that we may need to leave the area in a very big hurry. I've got eyes on a new arrival: an ImpStar Duece."

IC: "Sithspawn… I see it as well." Nerva chimes in. OOC: What do you say to the Imps bringing in an Interdictor (aka Dragship)? starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Immobilizer_418_cruiser/LegendsI ask because I want to recreate a scene from one of the Rogue Squadron comics, where one flight of X-Wings would fire torpedoes to make a gap in the Interdictor's shields and with perfect timing, the second flight launched torpedoes seconds after the first flight did so, the torpedoes of the second flight would get through as there was a temporary gap in the shields and those torpedoes would take out the gravity wells. The following is taken from Wookiepedia. "Nonetheless, like the Immobilizer, the gravity wells remained a major drain on the ship's main reactor. This had the potential to compromise defenses in heavy combat. For instance, while Loka Hask's Dominator had interdicted and was destroying a New Republic Convoy, Rogue Squadron's X-wings counterattacked by hitting Dominator with a salvo of proton torpedoes. While an Imperial Star Destroyer's shields would have easily held up against such an assault, Dominator's shields partially collapsed, and the hull took some damage, prompting its commanders to call off the battle. Rogue Squadron also successfully used this tactic on the Immobilizer 418 cruiser Aggregator, which caused it to retreat. "

OOC: Run with it! Kari's only reporting what she can see.
IC: Kari notes a red light on her instrument panel indicating the presence of an Interdictor-class cruiser with activated gravity well projectors. "Lead, Eleven, amend my last, there's evidence of a dragship," she says. "But I do not have eyes on it."

"I have eyes on the beast." Marcus Starkiller chimes in. "All available X-Wings, split into two groups. Group One will lead the assault and launch warheads. Group Two will fire their warheads five seconds after us. The first salvo will open a gap in the shields which will allow the second salvo to find their targets."
"Copy that Raptor Lead." James responds. "
"On it." Amie adds.
"I will keep the enemy fighters off your backs." Nerva replies.
