In the meantime, Lando convinces Admiral Ackbar to get as close as he could and engage the Imperial fleet at point-blank range to keep the Death Star from firing for fear of hitting their own ships in the process.

“We’re on our way. Red Group, Gold Group, all fighters follow me,” Lando orders, acknowledging Admiral Ackbar’s order, while knowing full well that not every fighter could actually do so.
