Background: In the middle of a Civil War that constantly had them being humiliated and outdone in battle, the Galactic Empires recruitment was at an all time low. They needed a Poster Boy to caputre the hearts and minds of the young people of the Empire and to rake in young initiative minds for their officer corps. They found one.

Born on the Subarctic Planet of Lupaii, Rakleon Savage was the son of a simple miner and his wife. Barely into high school when the Clone Wars broke out, his planet was pulled into the fray when CIS armies captured the world to use its strong metals and minerals in their battle droids. His father, and other miners who lost their jobs to CIS mining droids took up arms agaisnt the invaders. Working with his father to help gather a resistence against the droids, by the time a Republic Clone Army arrived, many of the CIS mines and foundries had been destroyed or disabled by them.

Officers from the Republic took notice of this chirismatic and deadly young leader, when the Empire took shape soon after the war they offered him admission to the Imperial Stormtrooper Academy on Carida. He graduated a 2nd Lt. and was immediatly assigned to the 288th Stormtrooper Legion as a platoon leader.

For the next few years, Savage proved himself as a able and confident officer as well as a finely tuned killing machine. By the time the Rebel Alliance began major combat operations against the Empire he had raided many criminal, pirate, and terrorist bases, was at the rank of Captain, and had been appointed XO of his battalion. His unit was one of first to engage in hostilities with the Alliance, and taught him how dangerous an enemy they were...

His commander, believing that the rebels were unorganized and untrained, ordered a full frontal attack on one of their strongholds. However, the rebels had been well trained and supplied with E-Web blasters and anti-infantry weapons. 3 entire platoons were decimated and the Battalion Commander (Who had insisted on going ahead in his assult vehicle to see the rebels "Pitiful Attempt at Defense) was killed before Savage took command, reorganizing the Imperial forces and managing to pull out a victory. Although the Empire "won" the fortress, it taught Savage never to second guess the Rebels abilities.

As the war escalated, Savage continued to lead his unit of the 288th in battle with great efficency and professionalism, rising in both rank in prestige though his relentless tactics. It wasn't until serving under Imperial Army General Mohc, was he brought to the full attention of the Emperor himself. A master of propaganda, Palpatine knew a symbol when he saw one, and more and more young people with falling in with the rebellion. A youthful, professional, and handsome figure such as Savage would be a great link to their demographic. Using his Executive powers, he promoted Savage to General and Commander of the 288th.

Now one of the youngest high ranking officers in the Empire, Savage continues to lead his unit against the Rebellion while also engaging in recruiting propaganda to help bolster the Empires officer corps... With Vader's 501st engaging in front line combat with rebel forces, Savage's unit has often been called upon by Palpatine for special duties such as eliminating political enemies or protecting Governors and Moffs. This has resulted in Savage having some very high political connections, making him a higher up in the aristocratic world of Imperial Center...

Just a few minor nitpicks, but it looks like you've a real good idea down and have developed it quite a bit.

First off, BN CO's are Colonels, typically... The XO's are usually Lt Cols or Majors... A captain may recieve a field promo to BN XO, but not unless all other LtCs and Majs are out of comission.

Second, I doubt a small resistance movement on a single planet would have great success at pushing out the CIS. Establishing a beach-head and holding it for Republic troopers, then providing pivotal intel and support would make it more feasible without lessening their involvement or importance to the effort.

Third, BN commanders don't typically get in close enough, even against Rebels, to be killed. There are instances where counter-attacks and raids have hit HQs, but they're very uncommon during the early stages; the Rebels were more likely to run with their tails betwixt their legs (pro-Empire aside, the HQ seldom was as vulnerable as the front-line positions due to the fact it would not be near the fighting). Were his company's command structure destroyed in a counter-attack (or executed for failure to be compotent as the Rebs escape while destroying much of the company), however, it could prove the same effect and be more feasible.

Another thing is that almost all of the 'enlisted' troopers are clones. Pretty much, only those of some specialties and much of the officer corps are recruited. "Bolstering the ranks" would likely only be needed for those positions.

Also, with the rank of General, Savage would likely have a brigade under his command. It doesn't mean the 228th would not be under him, but he would likely have other battalions as well.

Also, nice use of Mohc on your bio. I've not seen anyone else use him to date. And I do like the idea of propeganda using him as a symbol of the model Imperial Stormtrooper Corps Officer...

Also, don't mean to contridict you, but I thought LT. Cols and Maj. commanded battalions and then full colonels commanded brigades/regiments?

*hrms* I've done some re-checking, and I believe I may have been confusing things with the Army a tad...

Modern USMC works as follows, from smallest to largest (with CO/XO): squad (2Lt OR GSgt/Sgt) --> platoon (1Lt/GSgt) --> Company (Capt/1Lt) --> Battallion (LtCol/Maj) --> Regiment (BrigGen/Col) --> Legion/Division (MajGen/BrigGrn). As I understand it, the USMC was the basis for the rank structure of the Stormtrooper Corps, much as the Navy made the base rank structure for the officer corps of the Imperial Navy.

It Kinda throws me off how the TIE pilots have a seperate rank structure like the USAF. I thought they were part of the navy?

Well, I'm pretty sure Tie pilots have a seperate structure. Like that Imperial Pilot Baron Fel is a Colonel, and in the X-wing books wedge went undecover as an Imperial Pilot called Colonel Roat.

Soontir's son made the rank of colonel, but that was in the Alliance Starfighter Command, which uses the USAF-style rank system.

Nothing I can find has Baron Fel as a colonel. Decipher's CCG lists a number of TIE Pilots with USAF-style ranks, but TIE Fighter-series games use USN-style (with exception of General). TFN's commentary on TIE ranks suggests that Naval-based pilots use a more Luft Waffe-style rank system circa WW2, while those assigned to planetary garrisons and army support use the USAF-style.

Therefore, I would conclude that the truth is somewhat of a hybrid: ISC uses the Naval-ranks with the Navy, the Army ranks with the army, and the Luft Waffe-style internally (IE: Wing Commander would be EITHER Colonel or Captain). This would prevent confusion between the covered branches while still allowing the duties to be spelled out amongst others in the know.
