Background: Calysta Rotav was born to an upper-class family on Coruscant. When it became apparent that she had abilities relating to the Force, she became a youngling at the Jedi Temple. As she became more skilled in the usage of the Force, she quickly advanced through the ranks and became one of the youngest Jedi Masters at the time.
When she attained the rank of Jedi Master, Rotav family offered to celebrate. This ended up saving her life, for at the time that she was out with her family, the 501st Clone Trooper Division stormed the Jedi Temple, killing all they encountered. She also would have died as her family approached the Temple to see what was wrong, if not for the intervention of Senator Organa, who warned her of what was happening. Her family arranged for Rotav's escape from Coruscant, towards Naboo, where the Imperials were not welcomed with open arms.
It was not to last, though, as the 501st once again on the hunt for Jedi, came to coup Naboo. Rotav barely escaped along with a few fellow Jedi to join what would become the Rebel Alliance.
