The back of the new main book claims it to be the best role-playing system ever created; after reading through it, I must say that I agree. Though there is more math involved than in other games, it's head and shoulders above it's rivals.
There are several cool genres available from the Hero System. They include Champions, Star Hero, Fantasy Hero, Ninja Hero, Pulp Hero, and Galactic Champions, and perhaps a few more that I'm not aware of, or have forgotten to mention.
All that I can really say more about this game right now is that awesome is as awesome does.
