The HAG is a devastating ground weapon that was used during the Trade Federation's occupation of Naboo to add some heavy firepower to the assault. Primarily used as a "bunker buster" weapon, which is designed to overwhelm shields and penetrate deeply into armored bunkers, this vehicle is not terribly useful against moving targets. While it has been known to function as an anti-air weapon, this is typically to deter slower landing shuttles, and not agile bombers or aircraft.
The vehicle's primary weapon is a high-impact energy shell launcher, similar in design to that used on the Federation's AAT's, but on a much larger scale. While mobile, the cannon is concealed within the armored shell of the vehicle itself. When heavy assault is to begin, the vehicle lowers specialized repulsors which actually lock the vehicle in place. The top of the craft then opens up to allow the primary cannon to raise itself at an angle, and then extend to its full length.
