The hyperdrive booster ring is an essential piece of equipment used by those who own starships too small to have their own hyperdrive. Though the ring must be built to fit the individual model of starfighter, TransGalMeg produces booster rings for most common starfighter designs and also takes custom orders when provided with the blueprints of a more obscure design. When attached, the ring functions as an acceleration device that allows the starfighter to reach speeds capable of jumping to hyperspace and then opens a hyperspace tunnel to the desired destination in the place of the ship having its own hyperdrive. The ring does not have its own nav computer, and must connect to the starfighter's own nav computer or to a navigation droid in order to make the appropriate calculations for a jump to hyperspace.
