OOC: Works for me!
IC: Carth sees him go and alerts his father. "Dad, it looks like Luke's about to do something stupid!"
Matt catches a glimpse of what his son is referring to and mutters a stream of obscenities as he follows his erstwhile apprentice.

OOC: The encounter goes pretty much as in canon, except that Matt and Carth are both present aboard the Medical Frigate. That's where I'm going to pick back up.
IC: Matt looks sadly at Luke. "I think we need to talk, kid," he says at last, causing Luke to look at him in confusion.

'Yoda, I'm through pussyfooting around this issue of do we tell him or don't we tell him the truth about his father,' Matt thinks. 'I'm telling him.'
On Dagobah, Grand Master Yoda facepalms, muttering imprecations at the distant Jedi-come-Mandalorian warrior.
Matt takes a deep breath and deciding to be blunt before saying, "Vader told you the truth about being your father, kid. What you said Obi-wan said is but one point of view on the matter, but it's a half truth. Even I don't know the whole story, but I know this: Obi-wan didn't quite lie to you, but he left out most of the story."
"You mean there's more to it than what Ben told me?" Luke asks, intrigued.
"Yes, there is," Matt says. "But it's a tale for another day. Hit the sack, Commander, that's an order."

Meanwhile, Matt is sitting in the wardroom remembering what he refers to as the 'Good Times' before the Empire, before Anakin became Darth Vader, during the Clone Wars over a good bottle of Whyren's Reserve Corellian Whiskey.
OOC: In the first X-Wing novel, Corran lands on a crate of this stuff during the lightfight on Talasea after he gets shot.

Marcus and Ivanova have been rescued successfully along with the other prisoners from Hoth. Marcus is in a bacta tank, recovering from his various cuts and stab wounds, while his wife is wearing a bacta sling on her right arm. She is sitting next to the tank her husband is if and finally stands up. She holds her left palm against the glass tank, and Marcus returns the favor with his good hand.
"We made it, love..." says Ivanova. "But so many friends didn't."
Marcus just nods his head and looks into his wife's eyes.

Rani enters the wardroom and notices her husband nursing a bottle of whiskey. "How'd it go?" she asks him as she sits down across from him.
"Better than I'd feared, worse than I'd hoped," Matt responds, draining his glass. "The kid (Luke Skywalker) lost a hand and Vader rubbed his nose in the truth, so I had to run some damage control last night. Carth's fine, not that I was really worried about him."

"I see." says Rani. "As you saw, the rescue was a success. Some of the former POWs are in very bad shape, I will need your help in the medical bay, as you have had some training in Force healing."

Matt gets up to accompany Rani, but not before securing the bottle of whiskey. (OOC: It's not like he's going to let a bottle he started on get away from him. Also, they're still aboard the Medical Frigate...)

OOC: I know they're on the frigate. The Medical bay is larger then the smaller wards and operation rooms.
IC: "You're going to need to put on gloves and a face mask for some of them." says Rani.

"I heard that!" states Rani.
The couple then goes to work.
"Ah, Captain Tosk Moord... AT-AT blast hit near him at Hoth and took off his right foot long with part of the lower leg. Imps only stabilized him for interrogation." says Rani, reading the chart by his bed.

"A lot to take in, isn't it, kid? And that isn't even beginning to throw my story into the mix," Matt says.
"What is your story, then?" Luke asks.
Matt begins to tell his story (OOC: Refer to previous Mandalorian Wars threads for the story).

OOC: Matt doesn't know about the Starkillers being Jedi, he suspects that they're Force-sensitive but is unaware that they're Jedi. Remember that the last Starkiller he worked with during the Clone Wars was not a Jedi.
