A month after the defense of Concord Dawn by mandalorian forces, the Yuuzhan Vong have launched a full out assault on the Ta'alib home world of Shinju, which is a protectorate of the mandalorian government. To make sure that Shinju doesn't fall to the enemy, a joint operation of the Mandalorians and the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances has been sent to intervene. At the head of the assault force is the now aged MC80a Starkiller's Pride, and her brave crew. General Ivanova Starkiller has allowed her command ship to be Clan Hadar's 'home away from home'. The mid aged vixen/cheetah hybrid is in her quarters, trying to get some sleep, but slumber somehow evades her yet again. She sits up and stares at a holographic image of her late husband, Marcus.
Ivanova: Oh Marcus... it's been some time since I lost you to the Yuuzhan Vong. I know that you would have wanted me to move on... but it is so hard...
Meanwhile in Kandosi and Salla's new quarters aboard the Mon Calamari built starship, the young couple is having an intimate time.

In Mirdala and Nera's quarters, Mirdala and Nera are planning for the future, after the war is over.
Nera: "That's amazing! In all the years that I have been a smuggler, I've never heard of something like that."
Mirdala: "It's true. While they may not have the cloning facilities that the Kaminoans have, the Ta'alib have advanced genetic engineering technologies that can to incedible things."
Nera: "I still can't really believe that you don't need a male for planning a family. Amazing."

Jesic Hadar and Jag U'raath are spending time together in the ships' massive mess hall, which is empty at this late time of night.
Jesic: So, how come you decided to tag along with us?
Jag: well, I no longer have a family, and since I first saw you... well, I've become somewhat attracted to you.
Jesic blushes when she hears this. She to has been looking for someone to replace her lost lover, Varick.
Jesic: You want to meet me in my quarters for alittle 'fun'?
Jag: It sounds like fun.
The two mandalorians leave the mess hall and go to Jesic's quarters to make some love.

Nera: "So, which of us should be the one to carry the child to term?"
Mirdala: "I guess that that depends on which of us is healthier after the war is over."

Ivanova still can't sleep, so she dawns her uniform and leaves her quarters. She goes off in search of Master Vecto, whom she looks up to as a mentor. She wishes to talk to Nik about her husband and the void he left in her life.

Morning soon arrives aboard the massive warship and crewmembers prepare for battle. General Starkiller has called a briefing and is waiting to others to arrive before starting the discussion. Kandosi, Salla, Jesic and Jag are already in the war room, along with several other Mandalorians and dozens of Galactic Federation of Free Alliances ground troopers.
Ivanova: We just need to wait a few more minutes for Kandosi's sister and her mate to arrive.

Ivanova: Now that everyone is here, we will begin. As I hope you all know, resent reports from our spys have indicated that the Yuuzhan Vong intend to invade and terraform Shinju for their own purposes. We are here to make sure that does not happen. we members of Raptor Squadron will keep the enemy fighters busy above. Captain Jani Alixia and her sniper unit, the "Howlrunners" will pick off as many Vong as they can from afar. Major Kemil and his commando team will handle any Peace Brigade dropouts that decide to rear their ugly heads during the fight. The Mandalorians will do what they do best; take down the enemy any way possible. Now, Shinju is a arctic climate world, so, dress up warm, I don't want any of you catching a cold, I have a terrible bedside manner.
Members of the Starkiller's Pride's crew laugh at this last bit.

Ivanova: I am afraid we don't know that... our spys were found and butchered before they could send that info to us. I wish I could be of more help. And another thing, I will not be joining Raptor Squadron in this fight. I will be planet side where I belong... with my troops, I owe that much to these brave men and woman. Any other questions?

Mirdala wonders how Nera will like the climate of the planet, given the fact that she doesn't really have much fur covering her.

Ivanova: We hit atmosphere in two standard hours. Go and do what you want now... spend time with loved ones, write to family, anything... I know that by the end of the day, I will have to make calls to the families of some of you brave people, it's a hard job to do, but that is one responsability of a commanding officer.

Jesic and Jag decide to go to her quarters and cuddle. Kandosi and Salla make use of their time and go over their 'kit', making sure all their equipment works.

Mirdala and Nera continue to discuss the future with each other.
Nera: "So, what should we name our future little boy or girl?"
Mirdala: "Actually, offspring that had genetic material from two mothers, as opposed to a mother and a father, will always be female."
Nera: "I guess that narrows down the possible names."
The two continue to talk until there is only a few minutes until they need to go planetside.
