IC: The Battle of Coruscant: High Orbit
The battle is raging above the planet of Coruscant between Republic and CIS naval forces. During the battle, two Jedi interceptors (Obi-Wan and Anakin) are headed for the Separatist flagship the Invisible Hand to rescue Chancellor Palpatine.
OOC: My idea is that the Invisible Hand is outright destroyed before Palpatine can be rescued, causing the Clone Wars to go on a number of years longer than it did. Obi-Wan and Anakin could be injured during the attempted rescue or one of them could be killed, I will let you decide.

OOC: Weren't we going to start just after the end of Episode I?

OOC: We can do that another time. This RP idea came to me in a dream.

OOC: Okay, what's the general idea?
Disregard the above: stupid question. Are Imperial-I-class Star Destroyers present in Republic service? No more than possibly a dozen at the moment, if they are, in fact, in service...

OOC: Yes they are, as are the Victorys and the Tectors.

OOC: I assume the Vics are at least twice as common as the Imperator-class. And I'll be using Kari as a Wolfess with Matt's coloring and red hair, cut short.
IC: Hyperspace, enroute to Coruscant
Aboard the Imperator-class RSD Sovereign, Jedi Knight Kari Hunter paces nervously on the bridge, much to the amusement of Commander Barquan, commanding the First Strike Legion of Corellia.

IC: Meanwhile in high orbit above Coruscant, a dead Victory-class, the VSD Valorum is drifting across space and slams into the observation tower of the CIS flagship, Invisible Hand killing the captive Chancellor Palpatine before Obi-Wan and Anakin can make their crash landing in the Invisible Hand's hangar bay. The homing beacon on Palpatine goes dead, notifying Republic Intelligence of his loss. Word is sent throughout the fleet. OOC: I picked a Victory class from legends. starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Valorum_(Victory-class)

When the First Strike Legion emerges from Hyperspace, they are informed of the Chancellor's death. "Never liked him anyway," Kari comments to Commander Barquan upon hearing the news. "There was always something that felt off about him, but I could never put my finger on precisely what that was."

"The CIS fleet is breaking formation. They are targeting the planet!" a tactical officer barks.

"Over my dead body!" Kari snarls. "Identify the current CIS command ship, then take it out with extreme prejudice."

"Aye, Ma'am!" another officer responds.
The Republic fleet starts firing on the CIS fleet with everything they have. Meanwhile the damaged Invisible Hand jumps to hyperspace with General Grievous aboard to continue leading the fight another day. Half the CIS fleet follows suit while the remainder deactivate their engines and repulsors after they intentionally entered orbit so that the falling ships would create chaos.

OOC: Dooku was with Palpy on that observation deck, so they're both dead. General Grievous was never, to my knowledge, at the Battle of Coruscant... That said, correct me if I'm wrong.

OOC: General Grievous was aboard the Invisible Hand during the Battle of Coruscant in Revenge of the Sith. When the Invisible Hand started to take massive damage, he fled in an escape pod in the movie. But let us say that Grievous ordered the Invisible Hand into hyperspace before the ship took to much damage. and he will now lead the CIS.

OOC: Thanks for setting me straight.
IC: The arrival of the Sovereign and the rest of the Azure Starburst Fleet soon gives the Republic forces the upper hand over the remaining CIS forces.

Some CIS wrecks do sadly crash into the surface of Coruscant. The Jedi on planet help with rescue efforts.

During the confusion, Jedi Master Obi-wan Kenobi is seriously injured when his Eta-2 Actis interceptor is literally torn apart by buzz droids.
OOC: Those things are called 'buzz droids', right?

IC: Anakin's interceptor is heavily damaged, but manages to land aboard the Sovereign. "That was too close," he says to Artoo.

IC: Artoo whistles and beeps in agreement as clone hangar techs rush in to put out the small fires on Anakin's interceptor.
Meanwhile aboard the flagship of the Azure Starburst Fleet, the Venator-class VSD Glory of Alderaan, Admiral Kavion Ralter is issuing disaster control orders. He opens a channel to the RSD Sovereign.
"Master Jedi Kari Hunter, where is the captain of the Sovereign?" Admiral Ralter inquires
OOC: I will let you decide if the captain of the Sovereign is either dead or injured.

OOC: Kari is not a Master. Re-read the post where she's introduced and edit accordingly.
IC: "Admiral, Captain Harkness is in MedBay, but he's not expected to survive his injuries from the previous engagement," Kari explains.
OOC2: A little nod to Torchwood and Doctor Who for you, Marcus.
