Ivanova again grinned. She knew that Cahn would be thwe most likely volunteer.

Muramin thought for a moment again, then nodded quietly. "Alright," she said quietly. She recalled how, though the Jedi talked of strange things from time to time, they often were truthful and honorable. Further, she felt that it might help her get closer to some sort of finale to what she felt had been a long trek; she could find something on those responsible for the end of her tribe and strike back at what remained of their heart.
"But," she said, a little unsure, "whom would allow me to stay without knowing me?"

Cahn gave a start, not at all sure of himself. "I'll.... I'll take care of you, Muramin...." He glanced nervously around the room. "If you're all right with it, of course.... I don't know...."
Nik looked hard at him, a slightly stern look on his face. "Hmm'. he commented.

"Well," she began, somewhat unsure of what to say. "I would not want to be a burden upon you or your household," Muramin added.

Cahn furrowed his eyebrows at Nik's grunt. "It's not.... It's no burden at all, Muramin." He walked over to her. "My door is always open for you."

Marcus: I'm sure it would be alright Master Vecto, after all, the New Republic is paying for the place after all.

Nik finally smiled. "It's settled, then!" He stood up, walking over to Cahn and Muramin. "We'll head back to the speeders as soon as you are ready, Muramin...."

Muramin gave a slight not and rose to her hindpaws. She looked about the area she had taken to living in and, aside from the few automatons she had managed to work together for practice, she saw nothing worth keeping with her that she did not already have.
"I believe I am ready to depart," she said quietly.

Nik gave a chuckle, his misgivings apparently resolved. "Very well. Our speeder is a ways past that bar...." "If it hasn't been stolen', Cahn interjected.
And so, the group began the trek back to the speeder, Cahn and Muramin taking up the rear. As they walked, Cahn repeatedly felt Muramin's hand and waist bumping into his own. Must be because the alley's so small, he thought nervously to himself. After a while, though, he became comfortable with it, and started conversation.
"I think you're going to like it in the Upper Levels, Muramin", he said. "We've got everything you need: Climate control, mainframe computer terminals and communication circuits, indoor plumbing.... All the neccessities!" He grimaced slightly at this last word, wondering how she might react.... She had, after all, come from a tribal world, where such luxuries had never been seen before, and were uneccesary.

Marcus: Not to mention, no vermin; no conduit worms, duracrete slugs, stone mites, mutant rats, or anything.

If they but knew what was truely necessary, Muramin thought to herself. She was familiar with the concept of comfort, and had acclimated to using more technology out of necessity. Still, she yearned for the days of yore when it was just her and the rest of her tribe. A slight smile spread across her expression as she ironically recalled the days when she wished for nothing more than to be gone from the tribe.
"Perhaps these luxuries will be interesting," she said, giving pauses before the more unfamilar words. Even though her world had been trible, she had come from the top of the pyramid. "Your peoples' skill at this things is remarkable."

Cahn chuckled. "Well, we have had a few thousand years of practice!"
He smiled at her, finding some inexplicable joy in talking with her. Somehow, he felt relaxed, relaxed in a way that he had never been before. His eyes scanned her hard, yet soft eyes, and he felt a strange, electric sensation in his heart. Grunting, he looked away again.
Nik's voice cut through Cahn's emotions. "Here we are", he said, pointing at the two speeders, parked in the dark corner. Reaching for his activation key, Cahn thought of something. Looking back at Nik with a bemused expression on his face, he opened his mouth to speak. "Hey, uh, Master.... Do we have anything else on the roster for today?" Nik appeared puzzled, but direct. "I don't believe so.... Checking up on the Dart was the final item on the checklist." Cahn appeared pleased at the news. "D'ya think you might be able to return to the Temple with Marcus and Ivanova? I could take care of Muramin's arrangements on my own...." Expecting a skeptical tone from Master Vecto, instead he heard a very light reply. "Yes, Good idea." He jumped into the Flash Speeder and glanced back at Muramin. "I'll visit the complex later to see how you're settling in. And Cahn...." Cahn looked up. ".... Report tomorrow at 1000 hours." With that, the Flash Speeder lifted into the air and rocketed away into the night, leaving Cahn and Muramin alone.
Cahn looked at Muramin, his eyebrows raised in a mock-debonair expression. "Well, Madam.... Shall we depart?" --------------------------------------
As the Flash Speeder sliced through the city canyons, Nik wrestled with a nagging doubt in his mind. Was it right to leave her alone with Cahn, powerful as she is? His eyebrows scrunched in contemplation. Cahn can handle himself.... Again, the nagging doubt. But she uses the Dark Side! Yes, not out of absolute intent, but as a natural extension of her own understanding of it....
Rubbing his eyes, he looked forward at Marcus and Ivanova, Marcus at the controls of their small craft. I have a BAD feeling about this....

Marcus: Don't worry Master Vecto, I'm sure Cahn can handle himself if something happens.
