It has been several years now since Daxx and Vallen Novastrom got married at the hidden Rebel facility called Requiem Base on the planet Onderon. Garr Tevan has had the Silverwind upgraded with hidden weapons and stronger shields as a gift for Kari. Daxx is finally a full time doctor on base, and as such no longer goes on supply missions with Kari. 'Jade' is still a crewmember aboard the Silverwind, and though she is no longer sadistic, she has developed a mild naughty streak when it comes to other droids, having shut down two other astromechs.

OOC: By 2 ABY, I can see Kari doing more for the Rebellion, but she's still a businesswoman in many ways and still takes on a lot of legitimate cargo work. The contract our heroes had just finished in the previous Episode gave her enough money to get a large loft apartment over an old warehouse in the Spaceport district of Iziz, where she keeps the Silverwind with the full knowledge and connivance of spaceport officials (it also allows certain friends who couldn't come to visit her otherwise to drop by).

OOC: Sounds good.
IC: Daxx and Vallen live in town as well while Garr still lives on base with most of the other personnel. Daxx and his husband decide to visit Kari and call her up beforehand.
"Hey Kari... It's Daxx. Vallen and I thought we'd stop by in awhile, say half an hour?" suggests Daxx over the civilian comlink system. "I understand if you have plans..."

"Sure, come on over!" Kari chirps over the link.

"Want us to pick up some food or drink in the market on the way?" Daxx inquires.

"Let me check the fridge first," Kari replies, getting up from the comfortable leather recliner she'd been curled up in with a book to suit actions to words, padding barefoot into the kitchen. She grimaces at the empty fridge. "Daxx? You still on the line?" she calls.

"Yes, I'm still here. And from your tone, I guess you're out of real food." Daxx says. "What would you like?"

"It's not just 'real food' that I'm out of, Daxx, the fridge is empty, and I think I've only got instant ramen (OOC insert: Some of which, when done properly, is pretty good tasting.) left in the cabinet," Kari says sheepishly. "I'd been planning to hit the market and stock up tomorrow."

"How about Vallen and I meet you at the market in say, ten minutes?" asks Daxx. "We can help carry stuff back to your place. Vallen has a new food disk he wants to make for you."

"Gimme twenty minutes and I'll be there, Daxx!" Kari replies before cutting the connection and dashing into her bedroom to change into something she could wear in public instead of just a camisole tank top and her panties.
OOC: She winds up wearing the Star Wars equivalent to a t-shirt and jeans.

Daxx and Vallen meet Kari at the market at the requested time.

Kari's wearing a tight-fitting t-shirt supporting Industrial Automation's nuna-ball team, jeans, and sneakers as she walks into the market.
OOC: Don't know what else the Star Wars universe could call them.

"Kari!" shouts Vallen as he hugs Kari. "How long has it been since we visited your flat? Three months?"

"Gah! Vallen, if I wanted to blow out my hearing, I'd do it on my terms!" Kari replies in a more normal tone as she returns the hug. After releasing Vallen, she hugs Daxx. "Daxx, been a while."

"Good to see you Kari." says Daxx. "Haven't seen you around the base lately."

"Been trying to find someone who's willing to work with me on the Silverwind," Kari admits. "It's been kinda tough to maintain the same pace without you. Jade, bless her mechanical soul, tries her best, but she isn't enough."
OOC: By the way, Kari's place is a six story building with four actual floors (the warehouse effectively takes up two stories) that used to serve as some shipping company's HQ on Onderon, along with being a secure warehouse for the company, what with their HQ taking up the rest of the building above the warehouse. That's why it has room for the Silverwind. Kari's turned the top three levels into her apartment, though the terms 'warehouse' and 'apartment' really don't do the place justice. The company went out of business around the time of the First Battle of Geonosis and the beginning of the Clone Wars.

IC: "Well, Garr told me last week that she has someone that could replace me onboard the Silverwind. A former pilot from Vallen's squadron who took a nasty beating during a crash three months ago. Lost the use of his right eye so he cannot really pilot a snubfighter anymore, but he still wants to be of use in some way." informs Daxx. "Got out of the bacta for good a week and a half ago."
OOC: The former pilot took a lot of injuries during said crash and the three month period he spent in and out of bacta. I will let you name the guy. Also, he has an eyepatch because there sadly aren't any spare cybernetic eyes on base.

"Are you sure we should be talking about this in public?" Kari asks, reflexively checking their surroundings. "And is this guy's record with the Imps clean? If it's not, if he's identified as a known Rebel, it could draw a lot of Imperial attention to my business of the sort I don't want or need. Tell me honestly, Daxx, is his Imperial record clean?"

"He is a new pilot. Imps never saw him, and they never will now. His career with the squadron is over." Daxx informs.

"Let me guess, he made a rookie mistake, and it ended his career before it could really start?" Kari asked. "If that's the case, then he's going to be in a pretty risky state, mentally. Get him some counselling, then send him to me."
