"He was actually a good pilot. Transferred from another base, which was shuttered." says Daxx. "Thing is a large chunk of stone came down the rock-face as his X-wing was leaving the hanger. Clipped the fighter and he ejected... only thing that saved his life."

"Oh, kriffin' hell," Kari breathes. "I didn't know that. Well, then, send him by my place the day after tomorrow."

"The engineer corp. got hell from Garr for not securing or removing such chunks of rock before that." adds Daxx. "Whole thing is safe now. And I will send him to your place."

"I shudder to think about what could have happened to us if that had happened to the Silverwind on that first approach to Requiem Base," Kari says, rubbing her arms to try and remove the sudden chill she felt.

"The head of the engineering corp. got it worse then Vallen and I did when you two ladies had us clean the hanger." adds Daxx.

"I assume the base's entire compliment of astromech droids was zapping him in the balls, too, just to make things that much more difficult?" Kari asks, trying valiantly to hold back a giggle. "As for the time when Garr and I had you two miscreants clean the main hangar, well, if you do the crime, you'd better be ready to do the time!"

"No, Garr actually had the other pilots make even more of a mess each time he got closer to having the hanger clean. Took him three days to finish, with only five hours a night to sleep." adds Vallen. "You really should have seen it."

That does it, Kari completely loses her composure and starts giggling, glaring at Daxx and Vallen for making her sound like an escapee from high school. "I hate it when you two make me giggle!" she says once she regains control of herself.

"Sorry about that." says Daxx. "When you come to the base again, we'll point the fool out to you. I think Garr recorded some of the punishment for posterity's sake."

"I'm sure she did!" Kari chirps. "If only to embarrass the poor fool again at some point in the future." While the three of them are talking, they quickly finish getting the essentials for Kari's fridge and pantry.

They soon arrive at the building and enter the former corporate facility. "Home Sweet Home," Kari sighs as they enter the lift that leads up to where she makes her home. "Right, let's get this stuff put away, ASAP!" she says as they exit the lift.

"Thanks for the help, guys," Kari says after they finish and are sitting in the small library Kari had put together.
OOC: The first floor of the apartment is the only complete one, with the indoor swimming pool (meaning she could skinny-dip if she were of a mind to do so), kitchen and dining room, Kari's bedroom is on the third, and both the second and third floors are only partial floors. The second floor contains the living room and the library, while, as I mentioned before, the third floor contains Kari's bedroom, with attached refresher and walk-in closet, along with another, more private living room, and Kari's office, all behind mirrored windows (ie. she can look out, but no one can see in), so there's plenty of natural light streaming in. The building's second floor, the floor beneath Kari's abode, contains a few guest apartments (on the opposite side of the building from the pool on the floor above), and support systems for the pool.

OOC: Cool.
IC: Vallen decides to start making a special dish for Kari. He takes some nerf steaks and starts grilling them.

OOC: All told, Kari's dumped somewhere in the range of 200,000 credits into the renovations, and spent about fifteen thousand to obtain the property in the first place. Quite the expensive pad, isn't it?
IC: The smell of grilling meat draws both Kari and Daxx down from the library. Kari had been reading a romance novel, while Daxx had been reading a medical mystery, which Kari wouldn't touch, she'd only gotten it for his visits.
OOC (Again): Think of the romance as being similar to what Sherryl Woods writes, especially her Sweet Magnolias series.

OOC: Ok.
IC: Vallen has whipped up some amazing cheesy-pasta that he adds the chopped up nerf steak to. He drizzles some caramelized wine over the whole thing and then divides the food into three equal servings.

Both Kari and Daxx are all but drooling at the smell alone as they set the table.

Vallen comes out of the kitchen with a large serving tray, which he sets on a stand. He then proceeds to set out the three plates. He then goes back to the kitchen and returns with a bottle of vintage Theed wine dating back 30 years prior to the Invasion (Battle) of Naboo by the Trade Federation.
"Kari, whould you like the honor of opening the wine?" Vallen asks.

"Uh, sure..." Kari says, quickly opening the bottle.
OOC: She's not big on drinking alcoholic beverages.
